... With Cone and Carton
So, after all that complaining yesterday, I actually finished with this today. I feel like I can work on it more in the future, but for now it must be turned in.
The project was to take rubbings of different textures, glue them onto a milk carton, and draw that with a baroque/renaissance/modern/etc picture and something from nature. Apparently, she got this project from someone else, but seriously... WHO COMES UP WITH THIS STUFF?
Anyway, the background is drawn from the painting "The Fall of Phaeton" by Rubens. Don't ask me why I chose it for a project like this, since I'm still trying to figure that much out myself.
Even though it was incredibly complicated and I couldn't see much detail from the small black and white image, I had the most fun with drawing it. I'm especially happy with how the chariot and the more central angels came out, as well as the left horse.
And the pine cone. Oh, God, the pine cone. Don't even get me started.
Original is 16x19 (supposed to be 16x20, but I measured wrong), with about an inch more on each side than you see here. For some reason, it wouldn't lie flat for the photo, so I had to crop it.
25+ hours of work.
