Bright Eyes

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

~Excerpt from the poem, "The Rainbow Bridge"

A large Fearow approaches and seems to invite you to go for a ride. He seems friendly enough... Will you fly with Fearow to visit and play with his friends?

Lovely and Laughable Quotes

I love quotes. In fact, I have a 14-page collection of them on my computer. I had a hard time narrowing down my favorites to share, so here is a not-so-small portion of them for you to, hopefully, enjoy.

"A loving heart is the truest sense of wisdom." ~Charles Dickens

"It is discouraging to try and penetrate a mind like yours. You ought to get it out and dance on it. That would take some of the rigidity out of it." ~Mark Twain

"A dream is the bearer of a new possibility, the enlarged horizon, the great hope." ~Howard Thurman

"There is always some madness in love. But there is also always some reason in madness." ~ Friedrich Nietzsche

"Friendship is unnecessary, like philosophy, like art, like the universe itself (for God did not need to create). It has no survival value; rather it is one of those things which give value to survival." ~C.S. Lewis

"Fairy tales are more than true, not because they tell us dragons exist, but because they tell us dragons can be beaten." ~G.K. Chesterton

"They say dreams are the windows of the soul--take a peek and you can see the inner workings, the nuts and bolts." ~Henry Bromel, Northern Exposure

"Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited to all we now know and understand, while imagination embraces the entire world, and all there ever will be to know and understand." ~Albert Einstein

"I suppose it's like the ticking crocodile, isn't it? Time is chasing after all of us, isn't that right?" ~Eileen Essell, Finding Neverland

"Que cera, cera." ~Phrase popularized by the song of the same name by Jay Livingston and Ray Evans in 1956.

"These are all words, and words sometimes are meaningful." ~Dr. Mahapatro (my organic chemistry teacher)

And now on to a few of the laughable ones...

"To me, Twilight is comparable to that very nasty, cheap, plastic chocolate they sell on the street that you can't help but crave every once in a while." *angelishi (deviantArt)

"I am a scientist; I thrive in the simple blandness of nature." ~Dr. Kleier (my ecology teacher)

"If you spill a couple of drops of pyridine, everyone will know there is something going on crazy-funny in this lab." ~Dr. Mahapatro (my organic chemistry teacher)

"Artists can color the sky red because they know it's blue. Those of us who aren't artists must color things the way they really are or people might think we're stupid." ~Jules Feiffer

I'm a doctor, not a physicist!

Haha, I've been obsessed with the new Star Trek movie lately. I was actually originally more excited for the DVD to come out, than to see New Moon this weekend. :XD: Star Trek is so amazingly awesome! I'm actually going to make my best buddy watch it later this week, if I get the chance.

And this, coming from someone who originally thought the whole Star Trek thing was just silly. I mean, I'd even been to a trekkie convention in the past (I have a trekkie relative), which totally turned me off to it. And now, here I am, a die-hard Spock fan. :XD:

Seriously, see the movie if you haven't already. It nearly got me to cry in the first ten minutes or so, and I was bursting out laughing in the next ten. Something that gets you to feel that deeply for the characters in the first half hour is worth seeing. Oh! And if you can, watch the gag reel IMMEDIATELY afterward. It makes it that much more amazing, seeing even the most serious characters acting like a bunch of goombas after the film.

Oh, and I mentioned that I saw New Moon as well, did I? WELL. As horrible as Twilight was, this was WONDERFUL. Truth be told, it had me absolutely hooked when one of the Quileute wolves stepped out of the forest to confront Laurent. I nearly had a fit, seeing that thing, standing there taller than a grizzly. I mean, GOD!

Haha, everybody else who's seen it are probably gawking over Edward or Jacob, and here I am freaking out over the giant wolves. :XD: But seriously, I think the whole thing was worth seeing, if only for that. Team OMG BEARWOLF all the way. Word.

Um. Anyway, the ORIGINAL reason I wanted to write a journal before I wrote a novel on awesome movies, was to mention that I definitely won't be finishing NaNoWriMo this year. It's been fun, but I really don't have the time to finish. I am, however, interested in continuing with the story I started. Yep. Just to let you know.

Also, I probably won't be around after tomorrow night, until Sunday. That is, unless I can figure out how to access the wireless at home. Vista apparently doesn't like our Linksys, so no internets over the weekend. Boo.

Well, for those of you in the U.S. getting ready for some scrumdiddlyumptious feasting this week, I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving, and good luck on any upcoming finals to those still in school! See you around!

Hi! I'm Peagreen, as you should know already, and I am a college student working toward a B.S. degree in Biology. I am fascinated by animals of all sorts, although I do have a minor phobia of flying and jumping insects and arachnids. :XD: I hope to have a career working with or studying wild animals someday, particularly sea life.

I also really enjoy myths and legends, particularly those of animals. Naturally, this also leads to a fascination in cryptozoology.

In my gallery, you will find mostly things relating to my aforementioned interests, including bits and pieces of my story, Lifesong.

Also, if you enjoy photography, please have a look at my alternate gallery, ~Pea-Photography. Thank you very much for stopping by, and I hope you enjoy your time here!

I had the strangest dream last night. I was in some place everyone kept referring to as Eade. And I semi-met some of your characters. It was weird :XD:
